Inspect the entire head which will Require you to pull the head. Since you would have to pull the head I would just go ahead and have your spare head checked for cracks and flatness, along with confirming the valve seats, etc. My philosophy is if your going to do it do it right and be done with it. This way if you decide to sell it there is no issues to drive your price down and if you keep it you will not have to worry about it. Good luck and keep us posted on your decision.
